Understanding Workflow Steps
Grievances move through a series of steps from filing to resolution. Each step represents a stage in your grievance process.
Adding a Step
- Go to Settings → Grievance (or Steps)
- Click Add Step
- Configure the step:
- Step Number - Order in the workflow
- Name - e.g., “Step 1 Meeting”
- Description - What happens in this step
- Default Days - Days until deadline (optional)
- Click Save
Example Workflow
A typical grievance workflow might include:
| Step | Name | Default Days |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Filed | - |
| 2 | Step 1 Meeting | 10 |
| 3 | Step 2 Meeting | 10 |
| 4 | Step 3 Meeting | 10 |
| 5 | Arbitration | 30 |
| 6 | Resolved | - |
Reordering Steps
Steps are ordered by their step number. To reorder:
- Edit the step you want to move
- Change its step number
- Save
Active vs Inactive Steps
Mark steps as inactive to hide them from new grievances while keeping them for existing cases.
Deadlines
When a default deadline is set:
- The deadline is automatically calculated when a grievance enters that step
- Overdue grievances are highlighted in the dashboard
