Grievances

Track and manage union grievances from initial filing through resolution.

Grievance List

Navigate to Grievances to see all grievances. The list shows:

  • Grievance number
  • Member name
  • Current step/status
  • Priority
  • Filed date
  • Deadline

Customizing Columns

Drag column headers to reorder them. Click the column settings icon to show or hide columns and adjust their visibility.

Creating a Grievance

  1. Click New Grievance
  2. Select the Member filing the grievance
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Description of the grievance
    • Priority (Low, Medium, High, Critical)
    • Relevant dates
  4. Click Create

A grievance number will be automatically assigned based on your case number settings.

Grievance Workflow

Grievances move through configurable steps. Common workflows include:

  1. Filed — Initial submission
  2. Step 1 — First level meeting
  3. Step 2 — Second level meeting
  4. Arbitration — If unresolved
  5. Resolved — Final outcome

Advancing Steps

  1. Open the grievance
  2. In the workflow section, click Complete Step
  3. Add any notes about the outcome
  4. The grievance moves to the next step

  • Upload and manage related files
  • Tag documents for organization

Discussion

  • Internal communication thread
  • Keep all discussions in one place

Notes

  • Private notes visible only to your team

  • Related tasks and to-dos

Generating PDFs

Generate professional PDF documents from your grievance data:

  1. Open a grievance detail page
  2. Click Generate PDF in the sidebar
  3. Select a template from the dropdown
  4. Click Generate & Download

Templates are configured in Settings → PDF Templates. Variables like {{grievance.number}} and {{member.name}} are automatically replaced with the grievance’s actual data.

Bulk Actions

Select multiple grievances to perform actions in bulk:

  1. Use the checkboxes on the left side of the grievance list
  2. Use the select all checkbox in the header to select all visible grievances
  3. A bulk action bar appears at the bottom with available actions:

DeletePermanently delete selected grievances (with confirmation)

Click Clear Selection to deselect all.

Deadlines

Each workflow step can have a deadline. Overdue items are highlighted in the dashboard and grievance list. You’ll receive in-app notifications when step deadlines are approaching or overdue.

Searching & Filtering

Use the filters at the top of the grievance list to find specific cases:

  • Status — Open, Resolved, All
  • Step — Filter by current workflow step
  • Priority — Filter by priority level
  • Date Range — Filter by filed date
